"Just Ask"
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will
find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7

Percy Ross (self-made multimillionaire and
philanthropist) wrote, “You’ve got to ask. Asking is,
in my opinion, the world’s most powerful and
neglected secret to success and happiness.”

Many people are afraid to ask for something. We are
afraid for many reasons, such as looking needy,
looking foolish, or looking stupid. But mostly we are
afraid of hearing the word “no”. If we do not ask for
something we desire, this is usually because we
assume that we are not likely to get it, and if we do
not get it we fell rejected.   If we do not ask we
actually reject ourselves in advance. We reject
ourselves before anyone else has a chance to.

Here are some tips on how to ask for what you desire

1.        Don’t assume that you are going to get a “no”.
Take time to ask for whatever you want and need. If
someone says “no”, you are no worse off than you
were when you started. Just by being willing to ask,
you can get a raise, a donation, a room with an ocean
view, a discount, a free sample, a date, a better
assignment, the order, a more convenient delivery
date, time off, or help with the housework.

2.        Believe that you deserve it. Ask from a place
of knowing that you have already received it. Wayne
Dyer says, “You will see it when you believe it”.

3.        Assume that you have that which you desire.
Do not assume that you cannot have that which you
desire. Assume that you can get the table by the
window in the restaurant. Assume that you can get the
best price for a car that you want to purchase.
Assume that the person you are asking to help you is
willing to help you.

4.        Ask someone who can give or help you get
what you want. If the hostess says that the table is
reserved for someone else, ask the see the manager.
If you are asking for help with a project and someone
cannot help you, ask them if they know someone else
who can help you. Ask someone who can actually
help you get that which you desire.

5.        Ask specifically for what you want. If you
want help cleaning the house, ask for help dusting or
taking out the trash. Be exact. Do not say, “I want a
raise.” Say, “I want $555 a month more. Don’t say, “I
want to spend time with you this weekend.” Say, “I
want to go out to dinner and a movie with you.”

6.        Ask repeatedly. Don’t give up. Persistence is
an important principle of success. Eventually the
person might say “yes”.

7.        Do not take “no” personally. Whenever you
ask others to participate in the fulfillment of your
goals, some are going to say no. They may have other
priorities, commitments, and reasons not to
participate. It is not a reflection on you.

8.        Ask what God wants to experience through
you. This is the big one. Have you ever asked God
what God desires to experience through you? What
does your higher self want for you?

You are more powerful than you ever imagined. You
are here to experience and express the fullness of
God. How can you embrace this fullness? Just ask!

Affirm: “As I ask, God’s abundance is attracted to
me, and I experience God’s fullness right now!”
